DASAAVATHARAM is the story of the nine avatar (incarnations) of Lord Vishnu beginning with Matsya and ending with Kalki which is yet to come.

It is also explained in the various segments why the incarnations had taken place.

For instance, the Narasiman avatar (half-man-half-lion) was to reestablish man losing faith in God and the Vamana avatar was to teach an arrogant king that every being, no matter how significant, is to be reckoned with.

This multi-starrer has almost the entire Madrassi movie fraternity of the 1950s in its cast. Since this is an old production, the effects aren’t really that great. But the stars’ credible performance make up for it.
